Seattle, Washington – Beginning in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 26th, the Belarde Company crew of over 25 concrete masons installed more than 7200 cubic yards of concrete. Absher Construction is the general contractor for the Sound Transit N160 Northgate Link Extension project. The pour of the base floor of the station’s four-story garage began at 2:00 am with the work completed at 2:00 pm Saturday afternoon. Absher Construction contacted the Belarde Company one week prior to the scheduled pour stating that the firm they had subcontracted for the work had pulled out at the last minute. Upon receiving Absher’s telephone call and understanding the urgency, the Belarde Company was able to coordinate the workforce and materials to complete the pour on time, keeping Absher on its schedule.
